      (February 14, 2008, Woodstock, NY) - Radio Woodstock and Warren Haynes (Gov't Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, The Dead) have confirmed that Bob Weir & RatDog, Umphrey’s McGee, Dr. Dog, Pete Francis (of Dispatch) and Larry McCray have joined the fourth annual Mountain Jam Music Festival’s growing lineup. Mountain Jam will return to New York’s Hunter Mountain from Friday, May 30th-Sunday, June 1st, featuring performances by Gov’t Mule, Levon Helm’s Ramble on the Road, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood, Citizen Cope, Drive-By Truckers, Dark Star Orchestra, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Galactic and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, along with dozens of other bands and a full Awareness Village.

      GOV’T MULE TO HEADLINE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

      LEGENDARY BAND DRUMMER LEVON HELM TO MAKE RARE FESTIVAL APPEARANCE

      (Woodstock, NY) - Radio Woodstock and acclaimed guitarist Warren Haynes (Gov't Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, The Dead) have once again teamed up to bring the fourth annual Mountain Jam Music Festival (www.mountainjam.com) to New York’s Hunter Mountain from Friday, May 30th-Sunday, June 1st.

      For the fourth year in a row, Gov't Mule will anchor the weekend-long event with a pair of two-set performances.       2008 Promises to be the most exciting year yet. We’re starting the music on Friday at Noon, so there will be 3 FULL days of music. There will be an expanded Late Night featuring outdoor performances under the stars with Dark Star Orchestra and Galactic………as well as indoor performances by Lotus and the Pnuma Trio. There will be free shuttle buses in the parking lot to transport campers and camping gear to the front gates. We opened up a whole new section of the mountain and created an Awareness Village……………..

       

       

      MOUNTAIN JAM IV

       

      We're adding sights and sounds to stimulate your senses... including an Awareness Village for your enlightenment and entertainment. In an ongoing effort to stimulate earth consciousness, our Awareness Village will host activists spreading the word on offsetting carbon emissions & groups showcasing environmental efforts to save our planet. Festival goers can learn how to use some of these eco-friendly practices in their homes and towns, there will be information and workshops on crystals, astrology, plant/spirit medicine, yoga, tai chi, and plenty more to keep you healthy mentally and physically all weekend long!

      This Awareness Village will expand personal and planetary consciousness through deepending spiritual, environmental and political awareness!

      In 2008 we will, once again, have onsite camping, complete with 24-hour full-service lodge. For you campers, we will be providing shuttle buses from the parking lots to the gate, so carrying your weekend survival gear won’t be so exhausting, and leave you plenty of energy to rock and roll the whole weekend long! There will also be a separate designated Family Camping area for those who want quieter camping.

      If you are planning on staying in one of the nearby hotels, please book your reservations early to ensure yourself a room!

      This year our VIP experience is going to be better than ever- there will also be a secured VIP parking lot reserved specifically for our VIP’s! and we are picking up and moving the VIP viewing area across the concert field- making for easy access and great sightlines! There will also be another VIP viewing pit near the stages, so you can get up close and personal to watch your favorite artists! We'll have a third VIP location inside of the lodge with separate VIP bathrooms, food and a bar!!

      Better locations, more food, easier access all around- we are doing everything we can to make sure that this year our VIP’s walk away with only the best memories of Mountain Jam!
